Lakȟótiyapi Okáȟtaŋič’iya Wičhóičhaǧe Inc.’s mission is to sustain and strengthen the Lakota language revitalization movement through immersive language education for Lakota youth on the Cheyenne River Indian Reservation. LOWI will create new generations of fluent Lakota speakers that are connected to the language, traditions, and culture of the Lakota people, and are empowered to become activists and to take the language forward into the future. LOWI students will thus form the foundation for preserving the Lakota language for future generations.
Lakȟótiyapi Okáȟtaŋič’iya Wičhóičhaǧe Inc.’s vision is to educate increasing numbers of Lakota youth, inspiring Lakota language activism, and ultimately contributing to the total revitalization of the Lakota language in Cheyenne River Reservation and beyond.
LOWI School will soon be opening registration for Fall of 2017.
